Wells City U9s JPL v FC Wiltshire

Wells JPL enjoyed a fine afternoon in Yate, dispatching Wiltshire with relative ease in what was arguably their most comfortable victory of the season so far.
JB returned in goal while Ben came back into the defence, and both put in impressive displays as the team enjoyed a four-goal margin of victory that arguably should have been greater.
It was Wiltshire who took the lead early on despite Wells enjoying the greater share of possession, but their lead was short lived. Edwin played in Noah down the right-hand side, and he beat a defender before crossing for Rory to tap home. The second came shortly afterwards when Noah latched onto a long punt from JB and slotted home to put Wells in front.
Wiltshire levelled late in the period, but Alfie ensured Wells took a lead into the first break when his long-range shot was deflected into the net by a defender.
Wells came out for the second period in rampant mood, and soon established a lead they never looked like surrendering. Their fourth came when Noah turned smartly in the box and scooped the ball into the corner with his left foot, while a superb passing move involving Noah, Rory and Alfie saw the latter slotting home the fifth.
Goal number six came when Edwin broke into the box from the right-hand side and fired home via a deflection. Almost from kick-off, Noah chased down a poor backpass and drilled home the seventh to effectively end the game as a contest.
Wiltshire made a number of changes for the third and final period and enjoyed their best spell of the game, scoring three unanswered goals to come within touching distance of their opponents. But the fight back was over when Rory curled in a ball towards the far post that Noah turned in via his ear (apparently).
Justifiable gloss was added to the scoreline when Alfie played in Noah, who drew the keeper before calmly slotting home. The tenth and final goal came when Noah turned in the box and smashed into the roof of the net.

Goals: Noah (6), Alfie (2), Rory, Edwin
Man of the match: Noah - a commanding performance that included a double hat-trick, as well as constant harrying of defenders and smart inter-play with his team-mates.
