On a chilly autumnal evening Wells welcomed Paulton Rovers to the Athletic ground. The match started brightly with both sides having early opportunities, it was City right back Cam Glendenning who scored a fine effort before the visitors equalised against the run of play. Some neat pass and move football through the thirds found a cross from the left found Olly Glass who made it 2 before the break.
The Blues started the second half firing on all cylinders, a pass out to the left found Jack Bromham who cut his way through to fire a 30 yard effort giving the keeper no chance. Wells had the upper hand and were starting to play some neat pass and move football, striker Liam Davies made it 4 with a fine effort before a Bromham cross found Jack Madden who headed home from close range. Wells, having a good spell of possession capitalised when Harrison Veale found Davies to calmly slotted the ball home. Rovers never gave up and themselves had a couple of chances but found the resolute defending from Glendenning, Sheldrake, Diamond and Ellis and keeper Creed all in fine form, City made it 7 through Madden with minutes remaining.
