But promotion push still on.....

A last-minute penalty gave Wells City Reserves a victory over their Cheddar counterparts on Tuesday; putting them level on points with promotion rivals Glastonbury.
City made hard work of gaining all three points as they created and wasted many opportunities, with a winning goal always looking likely.
The opening third of the game was dominated by the home side but they created nothing, despite enjoying at least 70 per cent of the possession.
Wells’ best chance came just before the break when an Olly Bryant cross was met by George Carey but his close-range effort was brilliantly saved by Cheddar keeper Kieran Webster.
Wells started the second half in the same vein and a fine Dan Catley shot was brilliantly turned aside by Webster at full stretch.
Catley was then guilty of a host of misses as he got himself in good positions but failed to find the target on half a dozen occasions.
Wells’ pressure was relentless and they went close to breaking the deadlock when Charlie Crook’s effort from 15 yards came back off the crossbar.
Webster’s only mistake on the night came on 70 minutes when he allowed a Ross Padfield header to slip through his hands but Stan Smith was well positioned on the line to complete the clearance.
The goal that Wells had threatened for so long came when substitute Keiron White was hauled down inside the Cheddar penalty area and Catley made no mistake from the spot.
Merv’s merit marks – Wells City Reserves: M Roper 6, J Grant 7, M SHEPPARD 7, D Barker 7, R Padfield 7, C Crook 7, D Catley 7, S Emery 7, G Catley 6, F Ramos 7, O Bryant 6.
