But could quite easily have taken all 3.......

Wells Reserves travelled to Berrow on the back of a good performance midweek at Fry’s, but could only come away with a point.
Wells started the brighter of the two sides, with the first chance of the game coming from a mazy run by Luke Plunkett which seen his low drive parried out for a corner by the Berrow keeper. Two minutes later Sam Andrews could have notched, when a cross whipped in by Luca Hiscox seen Andrews swing his left foot at the ball only for the shot to clear the bar. On 10 minutes, Ryan Pledger then tried his luck from distance which the keeper could only push over the bar. From the resulting corner Wells took the lead, Plunkett driving the ball into the near post which the advancing Andrews met with his head and directed it into the roof of the net. With Wells on top, their achilles heel once again came back to haunt them as chances went begging as they failed to increase their lead. Berrow then began to get back into the game, resorting to the long ball, which resulted in a couple of chances to equalise, but for a good block by Jordan Bazley, then a good save by Steve Coppell in the Wells goal.
After a constructive half time team talk, Wells once again started the brighter and looked the more likely to score, but on 55 minutes Berrow drew level when a sloppy free kick was conceded out wide. From the resulting direct free kick Coppell was beaten at his near post by the Berrow captain. Wells then began to tire so changes were made to try and inject some energy. Even the changes didn’t prevent chances from going begging, and Berrow could quite easily have nicked all three points when with 10 minutes to go, the referee deemed a miss-controlled ball by Bazley which ran through to Coppell, as a back pass, awarding an indirect free kick on the penalty spot. Luckily for Wells the chance was squandered, and the game finished all level at 1-1.
Man of the match – Nathan Truckle

Assistant Manager Barry Maynard said after the game “It’s disappointing that we didn’t kill the game off in the first half, and certainly feels like 2 points dropped rather than a point gained. On the plus side, that was our 5th away game on the bounce and we’ve picked up 10 out of a possible 15 points.”
