7-1 win in one sided derby

Wells traveled to local rivals Glastonbury, who sat third in the table, knowing they were going to have a tough game, but they turned the form book on its head.
Wells took the lead on 16 minutes when a long looping Steve Emery cross from the right was squeezed in at the back post by Ryan Crowther. And they doubled the lead 5 minutes later when a mistake by Jack Clift on the edge of his own penalty area allowed Scott Hurley to bundle the ball home from close range. Glastonbury never really looked like getting back into the game in a disappointing first-half display and their only shot of note came from Harry Tabor, who picked up a loose ball 30 yards from goal but his fine effort flew inches wide. Wells almost added a third on 40 minutes when Hurley swiveled and sent a shot goalwards but Joe Bowley somehow turned the effort over the crossbar.
Glastonbury reduced the arrears 90 seconds into the second half when a Cory Bobbett shot from 20 yards as Mike Roper let the ball slip through his gloves and into the back of the net. Any hope that gave Glastonbury was quickly extinguished, however, as a Ryan Morris cross was met by Dan Catley, who first time volley was lashed home from 16 yards to make it 3-1. The game was settled as a contest on 52 minutes when Hurley set up Ollie Bryant, who got between two defenders before drilling the ball wide of the advancing Bowley and into the far corner of the net. Glastonbury’s heads dropped and it became rich pickings for Wells as they added a fifth goal on the hour when a Steve Emery free-kick to the back post found the unmarked Bryant and he picked his spot superbly, finding the far corner from close range. Following a tired foul on Emery by Glastonbury central defender Andy Mortimer, Ryan Crowther’s finely judged free-kick saw the unmarked Emery head powerfully past Bowley to make it 6-1. Glastonbury had become hapless at the back and conceded a seventh goal on 83 minutes as the outstanding Bryant completed his hat-trick with undoubtedly the goal of the game, striding unchallenged into the penalty area before lashing a superb shot into the roof of the net.
