3 points after close encounter

Wells took the points with a 1-0 win in at times feisty encounter. Both sides started well with Wells having the first attempt on goal in the first minute, when a foul on Scott Hurley resulted in Ryan Crowther blazing his free kick over the bar. The visitors first clear chance came on 16 nminutes when a deep corner was headed clear by the impressive Steve Emery, but it fell to Harry Magee who shot wide. Wells took the all important lead when a long free kick from Joe Grant was flicked on by the head of Emery, with Olly Bryant reacting quickest who laid the ball into the path of George Carey who coolly finished past the advancing Bowley in the Glastonbury goal. A minute later Dan Barker picked up a needless yellow for kicking the ball away.
The second half saw Glastonbury take the game to Wells, with Hurley going in the refee's book as early as the 49th minute for a late challenge. The game changed totally on 70 minutes when Tom Morgan was shown his second yellow for a two footed challenge which could quite easily have been a straight red. This just added to the tension of the afternoon with both sides guilty of making needless and at times niggly challenges. Glastonbury continued to pile the pressure on but Wells stayed resolute and kept their shape. On 85 minmutes, Glastonbury thought they had the equaliser when a corner was headed goalward only for Crowther to somehow clear the ball over the bar from off the line.
