A convincing win against higher league opposition

Wells City Reserves upset the odds to reach the Somerset Senior Cup final with a deserved victory over Division 1 outfit Burnham United on Saturday.
In front of a crowd approaching 200, Wells looked by far the better side over the 90 minutes against opponents who had only played one game in 2014 due to the wet weather.
The Wells management team of Julian Coppell, Mark Phipps and Barry Maynard have brought a wealth of experience and knowledge to their young side, which could bear fruit for the club in the future.
Wells' first team won this competition six years ago, beating the same opponents in the final, and the reserve side were quick to take control of the game.
They were rewarded on five minutes when skipper Dan Catley put the home side ahead from close range.
Wells went close to doubling their advantage 90 seconds later when a Ryan Pledger header skewed just wide of a post and Darren Maynard was also foiled has he dinked his way into the box but his shot was brilliantly parried by William Lamb, with Pledger somehow shooting wide of the empty net with the follow-up.
Anthony Cleave created Burnham's first opportunity as he skipped past three Wells defenders on the edge of the home penalty area but, having done the hard work, he sent his right-foot shot horribly wide.
Pledger posed numerous problems to Burnham with his pace and strength, and his cross from the right was met by Catley, who saw his effort from 20 yards brilliantly turned aside by Lamb.
Pledger toe-poked another effort on target but was denied by a remarkable reflex save by Lamb, who somehow turned the ball onto the crossbar.
Despite playing second fiddle for almost the entire first half, Burnham went close to equalising when a deep Nathan Bishop cross somehow eluded Adam Locke at the far post with an empty net gaping.
The home side could have doubled their advantage early in the second period when Steve Emery was twice off target with shots from the edge of the Burnham penalty area, while Darren Maynard was denied by a Russell Holly clearance.
Burnham's scoring opportunities were limited but on the one occasion they could have equalised, they made a complete hash in front of goal as both Bishop and Matt Scott scuffed their shots inside the six-yard box.
Burnham were lucky not be reduced to ten men midway through the second period when Maynard delivered a superb ball over the top and Pledger was hauled down by Alex Plume, who escaped with a yellow card.
It made little difference as Catley swerved a brilliant free-kick around the four-man wall and into the far corner of the net.
At the final whistle, Pledger doused his colleagues with champagne as he ran round the pitch. Wells will play the winner of Saturday's semi-final between Portishead Reserves and Minehead in the final.
