The first 15 minutes of the game was a rather drab affair with nothing to note. On 16 minutes Wells suffered a major blow as Craig Herrod came off injured after potentially pulling his groin. Herrod was replaced with Hunt.
18 minutes Ashton and Backwell got in down the left side and whipped in a dangerous cross but the Ashton striker blazed over on the volley from 6 yards.
36 minutes a Mark Randall strike from 30 yards was parried to safety and hooked clear by the centre half.
41 minutes a defensive error from Wells' Jack Spence gave their striker a chance from 18 yards but Hodges managed to get a fingertip to it and the ball just carried past the far post.
45 minutes Randall latches on to a Harry Foster flick on but sends the ball over the bar with a half volley from 15 yards.
58 minutes and a cross from the left finds itself to the far post where two Ashton players are free and No. 10 heads back across goal and into the far corner.
61 minutes and an Ashton corner is headed against the bar and Ashton are quicker to react and poke the ball over the line with Wells once again asleep at the back.
85 minutes excellent play by Crook on the right side and a quality pull back allows substitute Alex Camm to slide the ball into the near post corner.
89 minutes a long ball by the Ashton defence causes confusion between Hodges and Padfield and the Ashton striker ends up with an easy finish into a pretty much open goal.
92 minutes and Dale Hunt heads onto the roof off the net from a deep Jack Spence free kick.
Manager Truckle said after the game, "Overall a very disappointing display from us considering the start they we had with two excellent away wins but on the day we were second best and rightly lost"
