Wells city 0-2 Barnstaple
Wells entertained high flying and high scoring Barnstaple town on Tuesday evening after a poor performance against Calne at the weekend and performed far better going down 2-0, Manager Sam Andrews was pleased with the way his team reacted after the weekend and considering they have scored an average 4 goals a game we did well and looked strong on the break.
Barnstaple started well putting pressure on the Wells goal but found Alex Henderson in good form again in the Wells goal but he could do nothing about the opening goal when a corner was well headed in at the front post 1-0, the visitors almost extended the lead with a great effort which hit the bar, Wells did have a great chance when Oli Bryant pulled a cross back to Ross McErlain whose header was saved by the keeper, the half finished 1-0.
Wells started brighter after the break with Dan Williams setting up Ryan pledger whose shot was well blocked by the home defence, The visitors then extended their lead when a free kick was headed back across goal and headed in for 2-0, Wells to their credit didn't give up but Barnstaple were to strong and closed the game taking all 3 points.
