Wells City Football Club's Under 11s and Under 12s teams recently showcased their talents at an international youth football tournament held in the picturesque Camargues region of France, nestled between Nimes and Montpellier. The event, which attracted 44 teams from Germany and France, including both grassroots and academy squads, offered a unique opportunity for young athletes to compete on an international stage.

The Under 11s faced stiff competition but fought their way through the plate tournament to secure a respectable third place. Their journey was marked by thrilling matches and a display of teamwork and skill that earned them accolades and valuable experience against a diverse range of opponents.

The Under 12s delivered an impressive performance in the cup tournament, finishing in third place. Their campaign was highlighted by a memorable victory over the highly-regarded AS Monaco academy team, a feat that underscored their potential and prowess on the field. This triumph against such a prestigious club was a standout moment, boosting the team's confidence and showcasing their competitive edge.

A special highlight for Wells City came through Ruari, the Under 12 goalkeeper, who was awarded the goalkeeper of the tournament. His outstanding performances between the posts were pivotal in the team's success, and he earned recognition for his exceptional skills and composure under pressure.

Beyond the football pitch, the tournament in Camargues provided the young players with unforgettable experiences and memories. They enjoyed the camaraderie of traveling and competing together, embraced new cultures, and formed friendships that transcended national boundaries.
