Following recent speculation, Wells City Football Club would like to make one thing absolutely clear: our Ladies team is not folding, and the club remains fully committed to the future of women’s football at Wells City.

A small number of players have recently chosen to leave the club. Whilst we respect their decisions, the departure of individual players does not change the future, direction or ambitions of Wells City Ladies.

The club has the utmost confidence in Sophie Hart, our Ladies captain, and the players who remain committed to representing Wells City.

With a growing girls section, continued investment in our facilities and plans to further develop women’s football within the club, our commitment has never been stronger.

We are building for the future, not walking away from it.

We also ask that people refrain from spreading inaccurate rumours about the future of the team. Such speculation serves no purpose and is unfair to the players, volunteers and everyone working hard behind the scenes to move the club forward.

We look forward to welcoming new players, strengthening the squad and continuing to build a Ladies section that everyone associated with Wells City can be proud of.
