Ash Rovers vs WARRIORS

The Warriors were quick to put pressure on Ash with three goals in the first five minutes from Isaac, Ethan and then Isaac again. Sensing a goal rush, the whole team had a go: Eddie taking a long shot, just narrowly past the post and Freddie just over the bar.

Isaac sealed his first-quarter hat-trick with a good dribble through the middle and shot in the bottom right. Excellent distribution from goal by Alfie in the second quarter set up some good attacks, resulting two more for Isaac, one for Freddie and a second for Ethan. Apart from a quick break from Ash calling for a good leg save by Alfie, some solid defensive intercepting from Eddie kept things pretty quiet for Alfie in goal, who had to keep warm with a few press-ups in the box. Dylan finished the first half with a beauty: a left-footed shot from the left wing just curling into the bottom left corner.

The third quarter saw more chances for the Warriors, with the Ash keeper busy stopping shots from Dylan and Sonny and the post denying Dylan a second. Despite the small, bumpy pitch and long grass, the Warriors tried to keep their passing game going with some good exchanges in midfield.

The Warriors added two more goals: a long shot from Sonny and an Isaac penalty. In the fourth quarter Ash played an eighth player against the Warriors' seven, which evened things up a bit: the only Warriors goal coming from Freddie on a breakaway run up the right. With the extra Ash player on the pitch, the Warriors had more defending to do but three superb saves from Sonny kept the Warriors' clean sheet intact.

Goals: Isaac (7), Ethan (2), Freddie (2), Dylan, Sonny
Man of the match: Sonny - solid defending, some good shots (including a goal), and three excellent saves in the fourth quarter to ensure a clean sheet.
