Wells travelled to Lodge Road for their first Somerset Floodlight league fixture where, in the blustery wind and rain got off to a slow start which saw them 2 goals down after 4 minutes, as the game grew so did confidence across the park and the Blues pulled one back through Liam Davies after a good spell of possession. Some strong defending from Cam Glendinning, Oak Sheldrake, Tom Diamond and Angus Panton kept the home side firmly at bay with Tom Creed in goal making some fine saves. Through the middle Sam Harris, Jack Bromham , Shaka Moody and Nik Healy played some nice football and equalised through a fine finish from Sam Wilson. Wells continued to have plenty of possession and were on top , a substitution, with Xavier coming on gave City extra pace and a fine solo goal from the sub put Wells in front. Wells continued to create chances, substitutes Olly Glass and Louie Ellis played their part with fresh legs ensuring the midfield stayed strong from Yates late surge. Yate continued to ask questions but with spirit of the Wells players the home side just couldn’t find a way through and another attack on the home goal saw Moody make it 4 with 8 minutes to go. A fine all round team performance from Wells.
