With a brace from Andrews

Wells played their second cup game in a fortnight hoping to making amends for their exit from the Senior Cup the previous week, as they welcomed fellow Premier Division side Clevedon United.
Things couldn’t have started any better for Wells when they took the lead after just three minutes. A long ball out of defence by Will Rivers was met by the head of Ryan Crowther who’s pinpoint accuracy was met by the advancing Sam Andrews, who finished with ease. Clevedon almost got an equaliser when a great turn and shot on the edge of the box by the United No9 was smothered by Harrison Veale in the Wells goal. Three minutes later it was the same player which brought out the best in Veale, with another shot turned around the keepers left hand post. Wells then seen several chances go begging, notably a Crowther header which appeared to be easier to miss. Wells finally got their just reward when a deep Mark Randall free kick seen the United custodian pump his clearance into the back of his own defender, and Andrews reacted quickest to head home from two yards. Wells had further chances to kill off the game but chances went begging.
The second half seen a lot of possession in midfield for both sides with no real clear cut chance for either side. On seventy five minutes Andrews should have completed his hat trick when a great cross from Steve Emery was headed over. A minute later United got a goal back when defensive indecisiveness allowed the centre forward to poke the ball past an advancing Veale. The midfield trio of Steve Sokol, debutant Lee Oakley and the impressive young James Bayliss then controlled the game for the remainder of the half to see Wells progress to the next round.
