Wells City 0-1 Calne
Wells were hoping to continue their fine run in the league but could not find the back of the net with the visitors keeper in magnificent form making 3 fantastic saves.
Wells started well with Ben Robertson breaking out from the back and passing to Tom Manning who laid the ball to Jamie Howson who turned and shot just wide, a long kick from the visitors keeper set up the winger whose cross was cleared off the line from the strikers effort, Robertson headed a corner goal wards but the keeper saved well, neither side could find an opening goal as both defences stayed strong.
The second half was much the same as the first, with chance's missed at both ends, Ross Padfield thought he had opened the scoring with a diving header from a Manning corner but the visiting keeper made a point blank save of the highest quality to keep it level, Wells made changes to try to win the game but were undone by a breakaway down the right and a cross to the back post was side footed home by the forward, the referee blew the final whistle just after the retake.
A disappointing result but a decent performance said manager Sam Andrews, we just need to convert our chances.
