Ivan Andrews

Wells city 0-2 Brislington
Wells entertained premier league side Brislington in the FA vase on Saturday, and were beaten by 2 great goals, Wells started slowly and almost gifted the visitors an early goal after a poor pass at the back but the strike went well wide, and at the other end another miss placed pass set up Ryan Pledger whose shot went straight to the keeper, the visitors almost opened the scoring when the forward hit the bar and the rebound was sliced over the bar with the goal wide open, Brislington then took the lead with a strike from 25 yards in to the top corner giving Alex Henderson no chance, and then a great cross from the left was headed in by the away striker for 2 nil, Wells being 2-0 down seemed to relax and started to play some nice football with defenders Oli Bryant and James Russell getting forward on the flanks, but Wells were unable to pull a goal back before halftime.
At the break Wells made a change with an ill Charlie Crook being replaced by Jake Brown his first game since February, this gave Wells more pace up front and this almost worked for Wells when Brown cut in from the left and his shot went just over the bar, the visitors nearly extended their lead but the bar struck the bar, George Carey then work well down the right but his cross was just behind Ross Padfield, the visitors had another effort on goal but it was well blocked by Harry Penfold, this brought the game to an end.
Man of the match James Russell
